Cấu trúc no sooner than là gì?

Cấu trúc no sooner than (no sooner ... than) nghĩa là 'vừa mới ... thì đã ...', diễn tả hai hành động xảy ra gần như liên tiếp trong quá khứ. Sooner là dạng so sánh hơn của soon, vì vậy đi với than (không phải when).

Ví dụ

No sooner had she sat down than the phone rang.
No sooner had the film started than the power went out.

Hành động đầu: quá khứ hoàn thành (đảo had); hành động sau: quá khứ đơn.
